If you plan to explore the East Devon area on two wheels, The Kings Arms is perfectly placed for adventures along the picturesque National Cycle Network Route 2. For example, you can cycle along Route 2 from Exmouth to Budleigh Salterton, a fairly easy, family-friendly six miles through the countryside to the coast along the path of a former railway line. The Exe Estuary Trail is another very popular route, running from Exmouth to Dawlish along mostly traffic-free, flat cycle paths. This family-friendly route begins in Exmouth and affords super views of the Exe Estuary Nature Reserve, before continuing through pretty Lympston village and historic Topsham, past the Exeter Canal and on to the Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve, before a final stretch along the coast to Dawlish Town.
The Kings Arms also lies on the UK leg of the Tour de Manche cycle route (a cross-Channel route linking Brittany and Normandy to Dorset and Devon via the Cherbourg-Poole ferry), so we’re ideally situated to offer serious pedallers a chance to rest and recuperate!
For cycle hire, reliable bike-hire companies currently operate in Exmouth - Exmouth Cycle Hire - and Exeter - Sadpad
